Never been to Scotland though - one step too far.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17511653763073963362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5051629921855027241.post-88231279876060939302011-09-07T21:30:52.105+01:002011-09-07T21:30:52.105+01:00Thank you Michael. Thank you.

Thank you very much for visiting Kathryn and for your lovely comment.

Indeed it is Sandra. It's the first time I've sketched something before painting it and it certainly helped me to 'see' the subject. Thank you.

Thank you Pat. I remember your St. Cuthbert painting but the link to Lindisfarne escaped me. I hope you get there one day.

Thank you Frank.John (JWJarts)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17802012611212667028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5051629921855027241.post-40683023259808371742011-09-07T13:36:34.712+01:002011-09-07T13:36:34.712+01:00This painting is a natural progression from you pr...This painting is a natural progression from you previous sketch John - very nice._Frankb10https://www.blogger.com/profile/18151551321981740679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5051629921855027241.post-40222943188786788352011-09-07T08:13:07.907+01:002011-09-07T08:13:07.907+01:00Lovely painting of Lindisfarne.

He was the Bishop of Lindisfarne.
Its a place I'd love to visit for its history - and the causeway :) xxPathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01344072012837774958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5051629921855027241.post-74807039007930414642011-09-06T20:31:19.164+01:002011-09-06T20:31:19.164+01:00Is this one that you have sketched in a previous p...Is this one that you have sketched in a previous post?
It's lovely John and so nice to hear a bit about the place too :0)Sandra Busbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05622208510609673242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5051629921855027241.post-689886692685902362011-09-06T15:53:52.736+01:002011-09-06T15:53:52.736+01:00Amazing castle with a fascinating history. I would love to see Lindisfarne, but like you I've never been! Charles Evans paints and draws this quite a lot and I did one of the island as an exercise from his watercolour pencil book. The view is from a different angle to yours, looking along the coast rather than out to sea.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14423986562925121890noreply@blogger.com
